• Wednesday June 8th and Thursday June 9th 4:00 - 6:30 pm

• Ages:  14 and up

• Boat:  Laser - 4.7, Radial, Full rig

We are very fortunate to have Mathieu Dale back on island and willing to share his knowledge about racing Lasers.  This is a great opportunity as the Club now owns 3 Lasers.

Sailors will learn the basics of racing a Laser, advanced rigging and  advanced boat handling techniques.  Students should have experience sailing and be comfortable demonstrating basic sailing maneuvers such as steering, tacking/jibing, capsize recovery and leaving/returning to the beach.  This is not a learn to sail class.  Sailors must be competent in all points of sail and are eager to try their skills on a Laser.   

Registration:

• Registration is not complete and spot(s) will not be held until payment is received in FULL. 
• NOTE** Registration will be automatically canceled if payment is not received within 15 minutes of completing online registration.
• Requirements are:
  

• Able to swim 50 yards and pass a swim test. 
  
• Provide a U.S. Coast Guard approved Type III Personal Flotation.Device (PFD) with a plastic whistle attached.
  
• Sailing gloves and sunglasses are recommended for all courses.
• Sailing boots or shoes that can get wet.
• Following all SCYC Sailing Covid19 Regulations and SCYC Galley-Club Regulations.

• Our program strives to create a fun and safe environment where kids can learn and come to love the sport of sailing.  We emphasize the importance of teamwork, respect, and safety in daily lessons.  Our number one goal is to pass on our passion for the sport to the next generation of St. Croix Sailors.
