Sea Squirts

Ages 5-7

This class is for the youngest sailors ages 5-7 yrs. Participants learn the basics of sailing and are accompanied by an instructor who may sail with them or ride on the back of the boat while they learn. Class takes place right along the yacht club beach and near-shore waters of Teague Bay. Sailors may take the Sea Squirts class multiple times as they improve their confidence and basic water skills.

Fridays - 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Saturdays - 1:00pm - 4:00 pm

Equipment:
PFDs (lifejackets) are required, sailors who do not have their own may borrow a PFD from the Sailing Program.
Sun protective clothing & sunscreen are strongly recommended, as is a refillable water bottle (there is a water fill station in the club for refills).
Other optional equipment: Hat, sunglasses, water shoes, sailing gloves.

This class is recommended for ages 5-7. Participants should be able to demonstrate adequate swimming ability in swimming short distances and treading water while wearing a PFD.
