High School Sailing

November 16, 2018 8:42 AM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

This was quite a busy weekend for our Good Hope Country Day School sailing teams. The high school sailing team had the opportunity to participate in two invitational regatta's. Four sailors headed to the College of Charleston Invitational and four sailors went to 2018 Atlantic Coast Championship held at the US Naval Academy. After two days of very competitive racing at both venues, the two teams consisting of Luca Gruber crewing for Rider Odom and Lucy Klempen crewing for Taylor Hasson competing at the College of Charleston finished second out of 18 school teams! At the Naval Academy, in thirty degree weather, the younger team consisting of Elyssa Franklin crewing for Mathieu Dale and Lucia Bishop crewing for Carson Oakley placed a respectable 15th out of the 20 participating schools.
