Meet our St Croix Yacht Club Sailing Instructors

Our SCYC  Instructors are committed to the development and safety of our sailors young and old.

Our US Sailing Certified Instructors are experienced sailors with a love of teaching sailing to anyone who wants to get out on the water. Every Instructor is prepared to share their diverse experiences in sailing with our program’s sailors, to engage and motivate them to succeed both on and off the water, but most of all to have fun and learn to love sailing.

All of our Coaches and Instructors are required to have the following certifications:

  • US Sailing Level 1 Instructor (many have their Level 2 or 3)
  • Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
  • SafeSport Training through Team USA
  • Concussion Awareness through the CDC

Sometimes the best classrooms do not have four walls, desks, and a white board.
Instead, experience new learning and fun in open air, fair winds, and the currents of water.

Sure, sailing is about navigating the water in a boat.
But the joy of sailing is much more and exciting!
It goes way beyond navigation. It’s about:
Experiencing something new & exciting for the first time,
Fun on the water,
Freedom to succeed on your own,
Pride and success in working with your peers,
and Connecting with others wanting the same adventures in life.
You can enjoy this adventure forever!
It starts when YOU begin.

The Club is formed for the express purpose of promoting interest and activity in the ownership, racing and cruising of yachts and small boats; of providing a meeting place for members whose common interest lies in ships and the sea; of augmenting the recreational facilities and visitor attractions of the island; of exchange and courtesies with other yacht clubs of the United States and Caribbean islands, and of extending to visiting yachtsmen the hospitality of St. Croix.
