High School SailingThe St Croix Yacht Club Board of Directors voted unanimously to implement a High School Sailing Program. This formalized program expands on the Yacht Club's already existing programs such as Little Mariners Sailing, Learn to Sail Classes, Summer Sailing Camp, and One Design Racing. St Croix Yacht Club will provide a facility, boats and training equipment and US Sailing Certified instruction and coaching. The Yacht Club is committed to working with interested schools to provide scholarships where needed, for interested sailors. The High School Sailing Program will enable public and private schools to create sailing teams under the auspices of the South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association and policies of the St. Croix Yacht Club. Sailors will learn and compete interscholastically on St Croix, with opportunities to participate in, regattas, clinics, and other events at the local, inter-island, National and International levels. Two high schools on St. Croix are presently fielding teams. Four students is the minimum requirement to form a team, but a team can be formed from more than one school if necessary.
