2010 SUMMER JUNIOR SAILING PROGRAM
Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced classes will be held at the St. Croix Yacht Club for youths ages 8 to 18. There will be no exceptions to the age requirements. Classes will begin at 0900 (9AM) and end at 1500 (3PM) Monday through Friday. All Classes will be taught by U.S. Sailing Certified Instructors.
Student requirements are:
- Able to swim 50 yards and pass a swim test.
- Provide a U.S. Coast Guard approved Type III Personal Flotation
Device (PFD) with a plastic whistle attached.

Students wishing to take the Club 420 course must have completed the Advanced Sunfish class and weigh at least 90 pounds and be 4 feet tall or higher. Exceptions to weight and height requirements may be made with the approval of the Program Manager and the Instructor of the Club 420 class.
- Sailing gloves and water shoes are recommended for all courses, and are mandatory for the Club 420 course.

This program is a graduating program. We recommend that each sailor go through beginner, intermediate and advance, for each class of boat. Every child is different and our instructors will assess your child's skill and comfort with the level at which he/she is sailing. Instructors may recommend that some students may have to repeat one of the classes if they have not successfully mastered each skill required in that class.
- At minimal:
- -Sunfish students must have completed the Optimist Pram Introductory course or an equivalent level course.
- -Club 420 students must have completed the Optimist Pram and Sunfish Advanced courses or an equivalent level course.
Little Mariners Week: June 14-18, (9am-12pm): $100.00 ages 5-7 No exceptions to age requirements - $50.00 Deposit to hold space in class
Sessions 1, 2, and 3: Course fee $350.00
U.S. Sailing Members Course Fee $300.00 (Copy of ID card is required with application.)
Refundable Damage Deposit of $50.00 (please submit as a separate check)
A $100.00 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a place in a particular course. This deposit is deducted from course fee. The remainder of the tuition is due on the first day the course begins as is the damage deposit.
Tuition fee includes: a. Textbook b. Certificate of Completion c. Log Book
Sail Adventure Week: Aug. 2-6 (9am-3pm): $175.00 $50.00 Deposit to hold space in class
High School Pre-Season Training: Aug. 9-13, (1pm-4pm): $100.00 Recommended for any student in grades 7-12. Required for any NEW or prospective team members. $50.00 Deposit to hold space in class
Scholarships: Scholarships are available to student(s) in need of financial assistance.
Registration will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Appropriate deposit must accompany application for each session being reserved. Spaces are limited.
