One Design Series

The SCYC One Design Series offers competitive racing in a neighborhood atmosphere. Hosted throughout the year, these series are made up of 4 consecutive Sunday Race Days with an Awards ceremony held at the Yacht Club immediately following the fourth and final race day of the Series. The series vary from Hosting various one-design boats to just one or two. Some of our most popular series are the Rhodes 19 series which can see up to 9 Rhodes on the starting line, to the Funny Bunny Race Series which hosts Championship and Green Fleet Optimist Sailors for a fun series starting around April Fools and Ending just after Easter.

One Design Series are:

• Open to all MEMBERS
• Open to all graduates of SCYC Optimist 2 or Higher
• Run races for: Optimist, Sunfish and 420′s, Lasers, and Rhodes – 19′s (Which classes are being hosted during a given series may vary)

Registration Start time of 11:30 am

• You only need to sail three of the four weekends to qualify, so come on out.
• All competitors must have a life jacket to sail.
• One parent or guardian should be present while their child is racing.
• One parent or guardian should look forward to volunteering their time for ONE of the Days of the series.
• In the event of overbooking, St. Croix Yacht Club members will be given priority.
