Sailing Overview

The St. Croix Yacht Club offers diverse year round sailing opportunities for members of all ages.

Our Junior programs range from introductory with a focus on developing a love for the lifelong sport of sailing, to competitive racing locally, regionally and international world class events.


Adult sailing lessons are also available at the club, ranging from fun to more competitive.

    SCYC volunteers continue to make repairs to the small boat fleet.  An inflatable is being refurbished for the summer sailing program, while another Opti comes into the shop for repairs.

    Special thanks to our volunteers who are keeping our fleet in top shape.

    A special thank you to the members who contributed to the 2017 Junior sailing auction. This year we generated $17,450!

    Of the dollars raised, the fleet captain and team have spent $11,133 on Opti parts/masts and new motor for whaler.

    As we move into the second half of the year we are proposing to spend $2,000 to refurb and rig whaler (SCYC-2) with new motor and purchasing 2 chartered Opti’s from McLaughlin which are $2,750 each (or less depending on deals). A current accounting of funds follows:

The Club also sponsors a number of excellent regattas, updates can be found under events and NORs are usually posted below.


The Club is formed for the express purpose of promoting interest and activity in the ownership, racing and cruising of yachts and small boats; of providing a meeting place for members whose common interest lies in ships and the sea; of augmenting the recreational facilities and visitor attractions of the island; of exchange and courtesies with other yacht clubs of the United States and Caribbean islands, and of extending to visiting yachtsmen the hospitality of St. Croix.
